Great design is a natural expression of internal logic, reminding everyone of the beauty of the sense and spirit of nature

With a decade of local experience and more than ten years of international experience, I bring a diverse set of architectural design and project management skills to each project. This experience is primarily in large-scale mixed-use complexes, but also spans educational, civic, retail centres, hospitality, and workplace projects. With my strong technical background I am able to solve complex problems, while being familiar with the BC Building Code, International Building Code, and accessibility code in both the USA and Canada, while also being Passive House Designer certified by PHI.

My Sectors: Commercial Mixed Use; Education & Research; Residential; Senior Living

My Services: Architecture; Master Planning & Urban Design

We Asked, Xueying Xing Answered:

What inspires you?

“The beauty of nature always inspires me. Architectural design resembles nature in that each site has an intuitive logic to furnish the design. If we identify that, it will make designing much easier with a design solution perfectly suited to the site.”

How would you describe your working/leadership style?

“The ideal leadership style is flexible depending on what the situation calls for. When team members need detailed instructions, the coaching style is the best. When the project is under high pressure and a tight timeline, the pacesetting style will push the team to achieve efficiency and high standards. When the project is stuck, a visionary leadership style can abstract the different thinking to visualize the possibilities from a different perspective that allows the most unable to see. Tapping all the talents of the team members will address the issue and creatively solve the problem.

Personally, I am trying to switch between the different leadership styles to suit the best situations and achieve the best outcome.”
